Impression of the May 2004 Contest
The station for 23, 13, 9, 6, 3 and 1.2 cm
The junk we operate with... An impression of all the (very) old stuff we use.

Preparation
As usual we gathered at 12.00 local time at a sea-shore restaurant near the contest location. You need a good bite and a sun-bath before you can make all those QSO's isn't it!
Clockwise from left to right :
Gert, PA3BZZ
Marco, PE2MB
Ron, DL3BPC
Ian, PA4ZP
Marcel, PA3AZK
Henk, PA0C
Remco, PA3FYM
Only 4 hours to go!!!
A better view on the contest preparation.
(We would not know how to win without it.)
Transportation of our junk
At 13.00 local time we start getting all our stuff to the various locations.
Remco PA3FYM with his sophisticated 13 cm station. Right : Ron DL3BPC bringing his stuff to the SHF tower
The bag contains the IC 202, microphone, coaxes and "power" cable
The box in his right hand is the transvertor.
Marcel PA3AZK and Marco PE2MB in the already (over-) loaded elevator. There is still some space left, so Henk PA0C will join them as well in their ride up.
Unfortunately the crates contain all kinds of rf related equipment and NO beer....
It takes three rides to get all the equipment, tables, antennas, etc. on top of the tower.
I
The place were it all will happen...
In the top of the tower the red shipping lights are mounted behind a window. The tower is used by other services as well to provide radio coverage .
Our two 2 m dishes (for 23, 13 and 9) are still there, fortunately.
At approx. 13.30 we start building the station behind the window, so we can enjoy a view on the passing ships, going to Rotterdam harbor.
